DREOILÍN
(AKA THE WREN BOYS)

Part 2 of the trilogy A Glimpse of Flesh & Blood
Ancient Pagan Festivities

Eurasian Wren
Subspecies Troglodytes troglodytes
DREOILÍN translates as ‘Wren’ and is a nod to the Strawboy traditions
who encompass the Irish Wren Boys, the Scots Burdie Boys and Mummers, and the Skeklers of Shetland.

A work with live music, straw costumes, stomping feet and some shiny disco clothes;
The Wren Boys will answer 3 very important questions:

What happens when straw meets glitter?

What happens when folk crashes straight into discothèque?
And what happens when strip the willow meets florescent wigs?
