The Littoral Zone is a collaboration between Ceramicist Frances Drewery and Dance Artist Rob Heaslip.
It is an exploration of clay as a catalyst for choreography. The littoral zone is the part of a sea, lake, or river that is close to the shore. It is where clay can be found. As artists working together the interdisciplinary process is centred around the act of making. It connects the working materials of body and clay; examining the movements involved in each act of moulding, to dissect and identify dynamics, relationships and ultimately inspire performance.
