Grey Matter

It's that grey matter in the middle, neither black nor white, where you just have to wait.. And we all know that waiting is tedious... I've done a million applications, done the meetings, done the edits, done the budgets... and now I wait. How is my year gonna pan out?

Planning never seems to get easier, nor does it provide any light at the end of the tunnel. Just seems to be that emergency lighting strip that the cabin crew oint out during the demo - 'in case of a yes and dull illumination, please follow the lighting strip...' No, I'm not complaining.. or am I? Limbo is a place most of us know well, and where most of us have been... So, we are all waiting. Waiting for the yes so I can get things and people booked so I can get on with gigs and projects. And then ultimately - start another application, so that I can plan the next chunk. Pencil in dates and events, erase them, or hopefully underline them with a joyful exclamation mark, God I love those.

Plan Plan Plan.. and then Plan some more... And connecting the dots, so that one yes leads to another and so on so forth. So let me remain the eternal optimist, and let me spread some optimism to you today, and hope that your applications are also going well, and that a yes is also coming your way...

My wish list - yes to Dublin, yes to Cork, yes to New Work, yes to 'those which cannot be named yet', and of course, yes to Tour....
